The Renaissance Standard

Most flooring failures are subfloor failures wearing a floor’s clothes.

That is why our process front-loads the unglamorous work. These are the four standards we hold on every installation — the ones you will never see once the floor is down, and the only ones that decide whether it still looks right in a decade.

Hardwood installation in progress, planks racked across a prepared subfloor
See our full seven-step process
  1. We test the slab before we trust it

Every concrete subfloor gets an in-situ relative-humidity probe (ASTM F2170) before anything goes down. Excess slab moisture is one of the top causes of adhesive failure and cupping — and it is invisible until the floor is already ruined.

  2. Your floor acclimates in your house

Wood and many resilient products sit in your home until they reach the moisture content they will actually live at. NWFA guidance is to hold the house in its normal service range — roughly 30–50% relative humidity and 60–80°F — during and after the job.

  3. Flat, sound, and quiet comes first

We flatten to tolerance and fix soft or squeaky spots before the first plank. A finished floor can only be as flat, quiet, and well-bonded as the base underneath it.

  4. Expansion space at every wall

Correct fastening and the expansion gap each product needs at every wall and fixed object. Both are invisible when done right and impossible to hide when skipped — they decide whether a floor stays put or peaks and separates.

What Homeowners Say

Alex's family owned business exemplifies both professionalism and quality of work. He was very responsive and took the time to personally come out, preparing a thorough cost estimate and identifying what needed to be done to make our home beautiful with the installation of over 1,000 square feet of Luxury Vinyl Plank flooring. From scraping the floor, leveling low points all the way to installing missing baseboards, transition to and from tile, and quarter-round throughout the house, the end result was exceptional!
